Each Autumn Seion holds a ‘Food4Thought’ meal. On Saturday 12th September approximately 30 people enjoyed a delicious tea, and then listened to Chris Jones, a local rugby coach, talk about how he became a Christian.
In the late 70’s and 80’s Chris played rugby for Treorchy (at least, he did, when he wasn’t serving bans for being sent off). In fact, he was such a dirty player, he was banned for life by the WRU twice!! Earlier this year Wales Online had him at the top of their list of world rugby ‘bad boys’. Chris told us how his whole life got more and more out of control. That was until he found himself in a prison cell in Brecon in 1990. There, facing the prospect of some really serious charges (that actually he hadn’t been guilty of), he cried out to God. And God answered his prayer. Chris now testifies that he knows his sins have been paid for by Jesus, and that, though he is certainly not perfect, God has, and is continuing to, change him.
